I always think it's fun to look back at where I've been and what has transpired from moments that define the person I am becoming.  I decided to take a few seconds to collect images that show how I saw the world in 2009.  From a stint in Europe, a wedding in Chicago, students rallying on the hill in Washington DC, a visit to the Lone Star State, ten day road trip up and down the west coast, a spontaneous cruise to the Caribbean, family vacations, beautiful weddings, adorable babies, seniors leaving their mark, meeting the man of my dreams and again, being thankful that I get to experience this pathway I am on.  As we begin February {the month of love} take time to laugh, be moved and love those around you.  2010 is going to be a year of defining as well as refining my character, my business and the passion I have deep within me to continue living the best life possible.

While in Nashville, at the beginning of January, I had the opportunity to get a few images of Jeremy Camp recording his new album at Dark Horse Recording Studio.  I have enjoyed Jeremy's music for many years, so this was such a wonderful and moving time for me.  Again, one of the moments in life that I love doing what I do!  Jeremy has such an amazing testimony and seeing where God has brought him throughout the years, is a true testament to the loving and gracious God we serve. 

My friend Annie and I navigated the snowy streets of Nashville while I was visiting about two weeks ago, before I headed to Imaging USA.  Even though we were absolutely freezing and snowflakes were falling all around us, we still had a great time exploring the beautiful scenery along the back country roads.  She let me do an impromptu session while I was there, as the lighting was perfect and I couldn't pass up getting a few shots.

Welcome 2010, I look forward with anticipation and awe at what this year will bring.  I just returned from a week long trek to Nashville Tennessee and am inspired to take my work to another level.  Part of my week was spent catching up with an old friend and the rest of the week I was at the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center for the Imaging USA Conference.  I believe that learning from the people in your industry is extremely important, so it was exciting to attend the many classes, sessions and trade show that created a deep longing inside of me to become more than I was yesterday.  To truly follow the dreams and passions that lie within your being, to know that the road you are on is exactly where you are to be traveling and finally, realizing that if you reach high enough you will touch that star you wished upon as a child, these are the moments I treasure.  I want to say thank you to each of my clients over the years who have entrusted me with their most precious of memories, I am so blessed to live this life and do not take the opportunities I have been given for granted.  I hope that 2010 is the year you discover your passion, pursue your dreams and live a life worth living.

Last week I spent an afternoon with Kory, Chris and baby Lilia.  A few years ago I shot their wedding in Leavenworth and it was been great to capture their lives recently with baby Lilia.  She is an absolute doll but I must say that it was rather difficult to keep her attention when we were surrounded by ducks.  These pictures just made me think of Christmas and as we celebrate today, I hope that Lilia brought a smile to your face.  This season is filled with shopping, holiday parties, family gatherings, travel and the like, but to truly take a few moments and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas is a joy for me.  I am blessed beyond measure and do not take each day I am given for granted.  I have lived an amazing life so far and know that the year 2010 will be full of monumental moments, memories I cannot wait to create and love I look forward to sharing.  Be thankful for those around you, knowing that each breath you are given is a precious gift.
